Skyward Express was founded in 2013 by a group of local pilots and investors. We commenced operations with a single aircraft –a Fokker 50 and initially handled ad hoc charters into and out of Kenya‚ Uganda‚ Tanzania‚ Ethiopia‚ South Sudan and Somalia. Within the last few years the company has grown substantially in size and scope.

Skyward Express currently operates daily scheduled passenger services into Mombasa‚ Lamu‚ Eldoret Lodwar‚ Diani/Ukunda and Malindi from Wilson Airport with plans to include additional regional destinations in the near future. Skyward Express continues to operate ad hoc and scheduled charters for both passengers and cargo locally‚ regionally within Africa.

Skyward Express flies conveniently out of Wilson with daily flights to Eldoret. Lodwar‚ Mombasa‚ Diani‚ Malindi and Lamu. Ticket Terms and Conditions


1.All fares are Non-refundable.

2.Skyward Express reserves the right to change departure times or carrier when so required for operational‚ weather or safety reasons.

3.Skyward Express is not responsible for any direct or consequential costs resulting from any delays to its services and particularly if a delay results in missing a connection to another carrier-domestic or international. Skyward express only guarantees a connection to another flight operated by Skyward Express.

4.Itinerary changes on a confirmed ticket must be made by sending an email to [email protected]

5.Reservation changes must be done 12 hours prior to the flight departure time. If this is not done and the passenger doesn’t travel then the entire fare is forfeited.

6.Change of reservation (Date & Time) is allowed at USD 20 per person and if at the time of change the original fare is not available‚ the next higher fare will be applicable hence a fare difference charged.

7.Name changes allowed at a fee of USD 30 per person.

8.Re-routing amendments allowed at USD 35 per person and if there’s fare difference‚ passenger will be required to top up.

9.Check-in counter Opens 1hr 30mins prior to the flight departure time and Closes 40mins to the departure time.

10.No-show tickets are Non-reusable and Non-refundable.

11.At check-in‚ all Passengers are required to produce acceptable form of identification with a photograph i.e. National I.D card or Passport. For minors (below age of 18yrs) and infants (0-23months) a copy of either Birth Certificate or Birth Notification will be required.

12.Baggage allowance is limited to 20Kgs per person (5Kgs hand luggage & 15Kgs checked-in luggage).

13.Infants not paying for a seat‚ are not entitled to baggage allowance.

14.Excess baggage will be charged at Kes 350/- per kilo and will only be carried subject to space availability.

15.Skyward Express ticket is valid for 3 months from the first date of service.

16.All firearms and/or ammunition must be declared at the check-in counter

17.Skyward Express is a Non-Approved Dangerous Goods Carrier

18.Reprint of boarding passes shall attract a fee of USD 20 per passenger

19.Expectant Mother’s between 29 and 35 weeks pregnant must present a doctor’s note issued within 48 hours prior to their flight departure in order to fly. If you are more than 36 weeks along‚ you will not be able to fly with us. For more information on travelling with us while you are expecting‚ please visit

20.New Mothers –Within 7 days after birth. Doctor’s approval certificate required declaring the passenger fit to travel by air. Passenger shall be required to fill in a Skyward Express Medical Declaration Form‚ please visit

21.New born babies are NOT allowed to travel in pressurized cabins until 7 days after their birth.

Travel requirements and documentation

To board a flight within Kenya‚ all passengers who are to be 18 years of age or older are required to present:

  • One piece of valid Kenyan government-issued identification that includes a photograph and the passenger’s full name and date of birth; or
  • Passport.

Please note that driving licenses will not be accepted in lieu of the above.

Skyward Express requests that passengers under 18 years of age travelling within Kenya present one piece of valid identification (government-issued with or without photograph preferred) or student ID cards for travel.

For unaccompanied minors and infants under 2 years of age‚ Skyward Express requires government issued birth certificate(s) or birth notification(s) to meet various security and governmental regulations.

Note: The name on the identification must match the name on the boarding pass.

Children and Infant 

Booking a flight for your infant/child

1. Infants (7 days to 2Years)

Infants must be 7 days or older to travel on a Skyward flight. You must have a medical clearance certificate issued by a physician to present at Check-In for any infant less than 7 days old.

Skyward Express can accommodate a maximum of 5 infants per flight. If you are travelling with an infant under the age of 2‚ you can choose between two options:

  • Purchase a paid seat

You can pay a full fare and have your infant travel in an approved car seat which fits into the aircraft seat securely.

  • Travel with the infant seated in your lap

A lap-held infant is subjected to a base fare minus taxes as per below:

  • Mombasa‚ Malindi‚ Eldoret & Ukunda route is charged at Kes. 1‚200/-
  • Lodwar & Lamu route is charged at Kes. 1‚500/-

Only one lap-held infant is permitted for each ticketed adult.

Seats cannot be reserved for lap-held infants.

Checked baggage allowances do not apply for the infant.

An infant bag shall be considered as an additional standard baggage

2. Children (2 to 11 years old)

All children over 2 years old and younger than 12 years old are required to have purchased seat of 75% of the adult fare + taxes and must be accompanied by an adult.

Unaccompanied Minor is the term used for a passenger between the ages of 5 – 12 years‚ travelling alone. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age will be accepted to travel provided a responsible adult escorts the child at both airport of departure and arrival.

The responsible adult should present the child at check-in and complete declaration form prior form to remaining with the child for as long as possible before proceeding to boarding. The responsible adult shall be requested to remain at the airport until the aircraft is airborne.
